Speedpaintings: Yes and NoSo i decided i was going to do daily speedpaintings, to help boost my skill in shade and landscapes and whatnot without taking up too much time from my day, as i'm a very busy person.Speedpaintings: Yes and No by fluffkomix
I got three out and stopped.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A LAZINESS PROBLEM. I WAS BUSY ON THE FRIDAY AND THE SATURDAY AND THE SUNDAY, AND NOW THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHING IN THE WORKS.
Something that will keep me busy even long enough to not do speedpaintings. I will resume speedpaintings when this is over/if this falls through.
:iconfrostdrive: may have something to do with it.
P.S. I have been doing nothing but Bridgman and Loomis and Matessi studies on the bus, and drawn nothing but cartoons at work, and speedpainted at home. I am going to get better or kill myself.
FearDrawing scares me in one aspect.Fear by fluffkomix
This fear has always been nagging me at the back of my mind, chewing away at whatever pride i have left, and sometimes taking big chunks away. This fear is the biggest fear most artists have and i share it with them. This is the only thing that has ever scared me about drawing. Everything else i take in stride, work towards, and i'm confident i'll find a way around it somehow. I don't feel that way about this fear. This fear threatens me and beats me into submission and demoralizes me.
And i think i'm starting to get over it.
This fear was in fact, the fear of not improving enough. Everywhere i go i get people telling me that i'm improving (because compared to last year, i really have), but at the same time i look around during life drawing sessions at Capilano and i see where everyone's at. I see the people who got into the program and i see the people who came out of the program and they all scare me. They're all much better than me. And it scared me
Nude ArtI'm sure every single one of you has seen the nude art discussion made by the HQ of deviantart. While i do not respect a lot of the community of deviantart, i must give credit where it is due, and i admit that there are some great brains behind the website in itself, even if their april fool's pranks have been lackluster and the site is broken a lot of the time.Nude Art by fluffkomix
But anyways, the nudes topic asked five questions, and i threw my comment into the mix. But before i let it wash out to sea without anyone noticing, i figured i might as well post my answers here.
Questions for the reader:
1. Do you think there is too much nude subject matter on deviantART or is it a non-issue for you? How much do you think your gender or sexual preferences might influence your answer?
2. When is censorship of art permissible? Where would you draw the line? What rational rule could you offer as a practical guideline?
